7 Strong Steps to Move From Business Fear to Business Faith

Have you ever felt confused when it comes to your business? Maybe you've felt unsatisfied in your business, longed for some challenges, or knew you wanted to enter a new phase or direction of business, but just felt unsure about what to do or how to go about it. Whenever this topic comes up with my clients (as it has also come up for me), I've learned to notice that it isn't really about confusion, it's more about fear of success.

Do any of these fears connect for you? The fear of starting something new, fear that you won't be able to measure up, fear of disappointing others that count on you, fear of not doing something right, fear that

you're a fraud, and the biggie, fear that you DON'T DESERVE IT? Or the even bigger, biggie - fear of the ECONOMY.

I don't think I know anyone who hasn't experienced some form of fear when beginning or growing a business. It's natural. The problem is when it stifles your energy, and leaves you living dull and disconnected from your purpose.

So how do you move past that fear and on into the success of your life? You look for the coffee.

When I was a teenager, and would get so nervous the night before starting a new job, my dad would always say to me, "By this time tomorrow you'll know where the coffee is." This was code for--you're scared because it's unknown, but you've got to actually go do it to get to the known. And he was always right. By the end of my first day, not only did I know where the employees got their coffee, but it was also always a good conversation starter to people I didn't know,

"Could you please tell me where the coffee is? Oh, I take mine with just milk. No sugar, thanks." You get the idea.

Fear of change keeps you from thriving, from evolving, from asking for what you really want, from reaching out to connect with others, from taking care of yourself, and from challenging yourself. You are the manager of your energy, and this equals the master of your life, which includes your business and the level of your success.

Ok, so this sounds all good, right? But exactly HOW does one become the master of success no matter what's going on around you? Well, I'm what I like to call a "Get-It-Done-Gal." If I'm going to master anything (especially my life's purpose) I'm going to want to know some concrete steps I can take to do that. Now I know you're thinking (maybe, wishing?) that I'm about to try to pass on a magic bullet. Nope. What I am going to say is there are exact steps to take, but those steps aren't about expending your energy outward. Instead, those steps are about turning your energy inward. You've got to shift the inside to see the results on the outside. And when you do shift the inside you WILL see results on the outside no matter what's happening "out there." (I'm blessed to see this in action every day with myself, my private clients and Boot Camp members.)

Here's what you do:

1. Begin by identifying the original fear that's holding you back from making a change in your business or starting a business. (Fear of starting something new, fear that you won't be able to measure up, fear of disappointing others that count on you, fear of not doing something right, or, again, maybe the biggie, fear that you DON'T DESERVE IT...or perhaps what seems to be the favorite collective fear right now, fear of the economy.)

2. Look at your history. Start with your first job. Write it down. (Don't just read; do. You'll get faster results. Trust me.) Continue the list from there. Now go back and mark something that you received or learned from each position. What evidence do you see in front of you?

3. Celebrate what you've done. Give yourself a big pat on the back for everything that you've experienced and achieved so far. Nothing is too small. Wahoo! Go you! Seriously. To energize your success, you want to start by acknowledging what you've done so far.

4. Accept the compliments of others. This is just as important as #3. If you want more energy and success in your business, you've got to be able to let it in! If you can't say "thank you" when someone tells you they like your sweater, what makes you think you'll leave your energy open to accepting a new, high-paying client?

5. Track your commitment. Confusion and fear of success are great ways to talk around what you say you want, without having to actually do anything. It's important to check in with yourself. Do I really want this? Take one week and track the amount of times you think about/talk about making this business change. What kind of energy is generated? Do you feel excited, but scared? Or, could you really care less one way or another?

6. Re-evaluate the limiting belief or your fear. Is this fear who you are or maybe, just maybe, now that you've shed some light on it, not so powerful after all? Is it perhaps just a defense (again, it's natural to defend yourself when you're scared) or an excuse because you're actually happy to stay where you are, but feel pressured by others to want more--do more. The more open and honest you can be with yourself about your fears, the less power they have, and the more energy you actually have available to use and to make the change.

7. Continue to allow Energy Source (Spirit, Soul, God, Buddha - whatever language speaks to you) to work through you. Do this with bold action and the certainty that you can create whatever you want, whenever you want, no matter what. Abundance is the natural energy state of the world. Look around you - trees, flowers, animals - all thriving. It's the humans that make it hard to do so. The more you focus on abundance, think about it and experience it, the more you will become aware of the natural magnificence that really is. Then you have no reason to be confused. Or afraid.

3 Golden Keys to Using Your Voice to Boost Business

Recently I needed to tell someone that I was sorry ('Sorry for acting like a jerk' would have actually been the best phrase). You would've thought I was about to be executed the way I was dragging my feet. No matter how hard it felt I knew I needed to do it because not speaking those words would have toxic energy over-spilling into my body, my business and my success. That's a price I'm no longer willing to pay.

The fifth energy point is located at the base of the throat and it's quite powerful. Most people have a hard time believing this has anything to do with business success. I often hear, "What does my voice have to do with my business or getting more clients or a promotion. Don't I just need a compelling marketing message and leave it at that?" The energy of your voice is everything when it comes to business success, my friend, everything.

There's a belief out there that a your life energy is limited. This is often used as an excuse (usually a sign of something deeper that's being avoided): "It's not worth saying anything. I need to save my energy". Energy isn't limited. It's either flowing or it's blocked.

So what blocks energy? Holding back. Simple enough.

When you're afraid to speak your energy flow becomes very restricted. The constriction of the fifth energy point manifests in physical complaints such as sore throat, stiff neck and in characteristics such as acting shy, untruthful, incommunicative, introverted and unresponsive. Tightness is evident everywhere. Or the energy point can swing the other way out of balance: over-eating/drinking, gossiping, excessive talking, constantly interrupting, being critical of self, of others...

Neither extreme feels aligned for greater client or prosperity attraction, does it?

Ironically when you lose touch with your fifth energy point it's usually because you're trying to avoid conflict, don't want to hurt someone's feelings, or be rejected (you want to keep yourself safe), but you end up doing so much more harm than good. Tightness activates fear of expansion and that's your own success sabotage in action. The less energy you spend on speaking your truth, the less you have to spend. (Read that again. It's key.)

2) Be generous with genuine praise and appreciation often. (this is actually even more powerful than being generous with money). We are all eager for praise and most of us get much less than we deserve.

3) Make eye contact when you speak to someone. Look into the person's left eye. Energy studies show that this allows the other person to really feel heard. This is extremely powerful when used at in-person networking events or anytime you're talking about your business with someone face to face.

So What Myth Are You Here To Shatter?

Every person comes to this earth
with a purpose.
As an entrepreneur, you have the awesome
opportunity to fuse your business with your purpose!
Actually I would say this is a must because when you do your
clients benefit (in a big way!) and so do your bottom-line
profits (in a big way!). One of the best ways I've found to
marry purpose with profits is to get clear on what myth you
are here to shatter and start marketing your business with
it!

The first step to identifying what myth you're here to
shatter is to tap into what really makes your passion juices
flow. A great question to jump-start this process is one I
pose to my Visionary and Diamond Level Clients,
"If you had the power to solve a
pressing world problem or issue, what would you solve first?
Second? Third?"
The magic lies in your answer.
Really close your eyes and go inside, and give yourself
the space to answer this question. (I can always tell when
someone is answering from her head, i.e., "this is what I
SHOULD answer.") As the answer comes to you, jot it down.
Then walk away.

Give yourself at least five minutes and
then come back to your writing. When you read it over, if
your heart starts pounding and you feel a tug in your heart
- you're on the right path.

Next, begin to explore all the ways you can begin taking
action on this in your business RIGHT NOW. See, it's common
to tell yourself stories like, "that's such a big issue...
what can I do about it?" Or,

"Yeah, it means something to me, but right now I just need
to pay the bills." And this one, "Some day." Now, my coach's
challenge to you would be, "How can
the putting off of your passions possibly serve your
business (and I'll be bold, your life)?"

When you actually begin to partner
your passion for the BIGGER with the immediate - your energy
moves mountains, immediately.

How to Get Instant Prospect Response Results

There are 3 Keys I’ve found to creating an immediate, joyful, and results-oriented connection with your ideal clients; however, the one that’s most important is not only crucial, but also my favorite…a clear CALL-TO-ACTION!

Perhaps it’s the inner-organizer part of me, but I’ve always been a person that likes to see things “complete.” That’s why the call-to-action is one of the most important areas I give attention and energy to with both my private and Boot Camp clients. It amazes me how often this is missing for many entrepreneurs.

When it comes to telling prospects EXACTLY what they need to do to order your product, join your program, or take advantage of a special offer, this is the place where you need to spell-it-out. Instead, I see marketing materials that are vague and general about what a prospect needs to do or hear an entrepreneur’s voice drop or mumble at that important moment or worse, say nothing!


So, how do you start to amp up your call to action?


The very first thing you need to do is to make response easy. Make it as easy as possible for the prospect to do what you want her to do. If you want her to visit your website, tell her that and tell her the web address (seriously, you’d be shocked at how often the two aren’t linked together). Once she’s on your site, give her a clear map and directions to join your community. Tell her what gift she’ll get when she does. You can (and should!) do this for any business and every occasion. It doesn’t matter if people visit your in-person store, or the web, or if you go to them. What’s marketing? Communication and connection—that’s it! However, this is a busy, complex world we live in and we each don’t have time to weed through lots of text, decipher what your saying, mail materials back to you (especially if a SASE is not provided!) or call a number with a complicated answering service.


K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple, Sweetie!)

If your prospect needs to call, tell her when to call (days and hours) and who to ask for. If she's to fill out a form, make it as clear, fun, and user friendly as possible.

So this can be moved through, let’s understand the energy that’s activated that has entrepreneurs avoiding a clear call-to-action. This is some of what I’ve heard:
• I don’t want to seem pushy.
• I want to let people know I’m flexible.
• What if they don’t want to buy from me?
• Why spend money on stamps if they might not mail it back?
• There might not be anyone here to answer the phone.
• It’s the wrong time of year for this.

What’s the energy you feel reading these “reasons?”

It strikes me as a fear about standing 110% powerfully behind your offer. It’s the energy of hiding.

So there's one last important piece I want you to keep in mind as you begin to create your call-to-action: It doesn't matter what your offer is, most people will be motivated to respond to it if you are successful in motivating them to respond. I call this the energetics of selling. And, contrary to traditional sales belief, people do respond to positive energies: love, hope, inspiration, joy, gratitude, to name a few.

But it’s up to YOU to motivate and call your prospects into action.

If you don’t, then you’ve left the conversation before it could complete. That’s not a strong energy to have activated in your business, is it?
